Secure Browser Compatibility
The vast majority of current browsers will connect seamlessly to the CyberCrisis Center Web Sites which use Entrust Secure Certificates.  A list of compatible browsers are included in the table below.

If you have experienced problems because you have an older version of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator browsers, please visit the Browser Security: Root Update section below to update your browser.

Updating Browser Root Certificates:

Try importing the updated certificates, to ensure that your Navigator 2.x, 3.x or 4.0x or Internet Explorer 3.0 or 4.0x browser works with all Web servers secured by Entrust certificates. The process takes only a couple of minutes.

Netscape Navigator 2.x, 3.x and 4.0x

  1. In Netscape Navigator, open http://www.entrust.net/downloads/binary/gte.cacert
    A New Certificate Authority software wizard appears. This wizard guides you through the steps for accepting a new certificate.

  2. Select 'Next'

  5. Select 'Accept this Certificate Authority for Certifying network sites'

  6. Select 'Next'

  7. When asked to choose a nickname use a name you can remember, such as "CyberCrisis root" or "CyberCrisis".
    Select 'Finish'

You have just imported a valid root certificate. This will allow you to access Web sites secured with Entrust Web server certificates.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and 4.0x

To import the new root certificate (valid until May 2019) into Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or 4.0x, follow these steps:

  1. In Internet Explorer 3.0 or 4.0x, open http://www.entrust.net/downloads/binary/webroot.crt.

  2. If the File download dialog box appears, choose the option to open the file. The New Site
    Certificate dialog box appears.

  3. In the site certificate dialog box choose "Accept and enable this site certificate".

  4. Click "OK".

  5. Exit IE and then restart it.

You have just imported the Entrust root certificate. This certificate will allow you to access Web sites secured with Entrust Web server certificates. The new root certificate is valid until May 2019.
